â–· About Us

At Tigermed Therapy we specialize in acupuncture for pain management and athletics. Our modalities are incorporated together, making for an effective combination for a variety of conditions. Acupuncture, combined with knowledge of modern medicine, anatomy, and sports medicine, allows us to provide one of the most effective treatments to help release "myofascial trigger point"  (MTrP) formations deeper in the body. These areas not superficially accessible for self-care, using foam rollers, massage, or even scraping and cupping. To treat the root of the problem, we use these hyper-thin tools with electro-stimulation to achieve full myofascial release, local healing, and neuromuscular reeducation. The body can heal itself with the right tools, and we use evidence based studies to continually improve our approaches and techniques. We specialize in gait analysis, kinetic chains and movement, modulation of proprioception and nociception (pain), increasing parasympathetic tone within the autonomic nervous system (ANS), and breaking the chain of inflammation, pain, and imbalance.

      For Athletes

We believe that in order to better understand athletes and effectively treat sport injuries, you have to be one yourself. Our lead physician has a background in a range of competition snow, water, and land sports. He understands and studies the unique kinesiology of complex movements, across a variety of sports. We've been there, and know what works, and what doesn't. In March of 2021, Dr. Sandy suffered a displaced, comminuted fracture, with multiple breaks to his tibia and fibula while skiing. Undergoing extensive repair and surgery, with rod and screws, he has first hand experience, rehabilitating post surgery. Utilizing these methods, he continues returning to his old sports. We specialize in dry needling release, as well as restoring muscle function and strength, using motor points.

Acupuncture is a secret weapon professional athletes across all sports use to keep their bodies performing at an optimum level. Our patient base comes from various ages and backgrounds of gymnastics, dance, ballet, US Tennis, PGA tour, International Federation of Bodybuilding, US Powerlifting, CrossFit Games, US Olympics, Pro Triathlete & Ironman competitors, International Basketball, and UFC. We have worked on NCAA D1 collegiate athletes in various sports ranging from football, softball, pole-vaulting, gymnastics and swimming. High school athletes are regulars as well. We can improve the range of motion, and alleviate sore, overused muscles, which can become inflamed from repetitive stress.

We offer specialized treatments geared towards people who use their bodies aggressively.
